For four wonderful days in the spectacular Grand Tetons mountains, choristers can explore the Wyoming wilderness while having the opportunity to sing Verdi's Requiem with the world famous Festival Orchestra. Many singers make this trip part of their summer vacation, as there is ample time between rehearsals and performances to take advantage of the many outdoor activities in Jackson. Because of the choral demands of the Verdi Requiem, places will be very competitive for 2013. Applicants are not considered on a first-come first-served basis. Previous participants with the SFFC should not assume that they will be automatically accepted. Please use the link below to complete a questionnaire and application. You may be required to audition for SFFC Artistic Director Ian Robertson. If you wish, you can submit a recording in mp3 format as part of the application. Rehearsals are generally held on Saturday mornings in San Francisco. Exact rehearsal dates in San Francisco will be announced upon your acceptance. For a sixth year, the San Francisco Festival Chorale (SFFC), Ian Robertson, Artistic Director, will be guest chorus at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, singing performances of Verdi's thrilling Requiem in July 2013 with the Festival Orchestra conducted by Music Director Donald Runnicles. Previous appearances with the Festival have featured the SFFC in performances of Mahler's Symphony No. 2, Mahler's Symphony No. 3, Orff's Carmina Burana, Messiaen's Trois petites liturgies de la Présence Divine and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9.
